Construction on Sunset apartment started

Located within a post-war residential building on Knokke’s seafront, the existing apartments’ function was prioritized over their shape and design.

Challenged by the building’s existing structure we need to combine multiple apartments into one. Our intervention optimizes the spaces by opening the shared surfaces and uses the structure as a motif, leaving it exposed. We are adding another layer of meaning to the building by respecting the existing and keeping it contemporary at the same time.
